How and Why of Homeschooling

January 18, 2008 / by angelface79

Homeschooling is getting really popular. I know in Kentucky a few years ago, you would never see a homeschooler. Now they are all around. I've even seen a mom homeschool while at the dentist office. Its really nice to see.

Homeschooling is a good idea. In many ways. Why should you homeschool? This one is easy enough to answer. Have you turned on your tv lately? Talk shows are full of people that were brutally humiliated and bullied while in public school. Now years later, they are still living with the scars. On the news, there are various reports of violence in the public schools. Not only between students, but between staff and students. Sure, it might not happen to your child but the big question is do you want to take the chance?

The next big question is how to homeschool. If you use the homeschooling curriculum like the one we use, you are not going to have to worry about creating a whole curriculum. The website does it for you! They also keep track of progress reports and grades. I am a big fan of online curriculums for many reasons. It helps teach your child computer skills. You have a third party tracking the grades. Best of all, you are actually using a curriculum that meets national standards. So you can feel secure that your child is learning what they actually need to learn. The program is entertaining enough to keep your child interested. Free worksheets are included. You can homeschool with a computer, internet, and speakers or headphones.

Price is not a concern with my son's first grade activities. It only costs $19.95 per month. So the curriculum works well within my budget. With this homeschool curriculum anyone can homeschool their child.

Today, I was reading an online news report that talked about the very real concern of actions between teachers and students. It also talked about how many children are victims of public school teachers. It really made me grateful that this is not something I have to worry about with my child.

This content is entirely my own opinion. Time4learning.com did not write it, although I have been compensated!
