Homeschooling with the child that is bored!

February 19, 2008 / by angelface79

As homeschooling parents, I'm sure we've all had the dreadful "burnout" days. The days where your child is not in the mood for lessons. On these days you may be sending out a silent SOS, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

In my household, we use a combination of online and offline homeschooling. Out of the two, the online curriculum is more entertaining for my son. As a first grade student, he is not able to concentrate as long as an older child would. When he does his lessons online, they engage his attention. Sometimes, children just need a change. As a homeschooling parent, I can give that to him. It's one of the many benefits of homeschooling

The online curriculum we use is great. And very, very affordable. We pay only $19.95 per month. It comes in so handy on the days my son is experiencing burnout. Each and every lesson is different. The characters make it very entertaining for children. His first grade activities are very interactive, so he has fun while he learns.

The online curriculum allows you to do as much or as little as you like. It can work with just about any homeschooling program. If your family learns offline, you could reserve one day a week for online lessons. Children really like the variety. It's perfect for the days that your child does not want to do lessons.

You can also homeschool online full-time. For $19.95 per month, you get the full curriculum for each grade level. The curriculum covers math, science, social studies, and language arts. They offer homeschool curriculums for grades pre-k through eighth. Included in your membership is worksheets that can be printed out. The lessons lead your child, giving you time to concentrate on other things.

The key to keeping children involved and wanting to learn is variety. It's only natural after so long that your child will experience burnout. As adults, we experience burnout as well. Homeschooling online is an affordable and easy way to avoid or eliminate burnout. By completing his first grade lessons online, my son is getting the change he needs and learning. Mission accomplished!

Although I have been compensated for this post, the thoughts are entirely my own!
